♦ SKYMASTER ARRIVES AT WHENUAPAI ' - 1 (P.A.) AUCKLAND, June. 13. Pan American Airways' dippe ■ Kathay, reached Whenuapai this afternoon from San Francisco. Mechanics t .trouble delayed the aircraft at Honofc lulu for 12 hours, but a fast flight of 12 hours on the final day between Suva and Auckland, via Tontouta, made BK some at the loss. Commanded by Captain B. E. lien, with Captain H. J. Beyer making » route check flight as second pilottH elipper carried five passengers; 'MW; were Mrs D. Whitney and Mr Tk Smffl from San Francisco, and Mr tad ten sSKjiOi ditions were good except for a snon gffigsas carried. Two of the heaviest iteps were massive spare wheels for tne Skymasters’ under-carriages. One was left at New Caledonia and the other will be kept at Whenuapai. - . The Skymaster will leave WhenuapH on its return to San Francisco at i-w a.m. on Sunday, and is expected W carry 24 passengers.
