MiSs Wagstaff was a senior member J he Avonside Girls’ High School staff, where she had taught for many years. As a pupil, she entered the Girls’ High School with a jSnlor Education Board scholarship, gained a senior scholership, and later a junior university scholarship, J - At Canterbury College, Miss Wagstaff graduated M.A. with honours in English and French, After spending two years oh the staff of the Otago G J rl ?’ l ii, gh School. Miss Wagstaff joined th« Christchurch Girls’ High School staff, on which she remained until she took up her appointment at Avonside when It became a separate school. Miss Wagstaff was interested in mountaineering. She Was also an enthusiastic supporter of the Repertory Society, and was well known in musical circles.
