OFFICIAL FORECASTS “ The Press ' Special Service WELLINGTON, June 13The weather forecast for Canterbury, Issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: an anti-cyclone is centred between Norfolk Island and the Kermadec Islands. Pressure is very low south of the Dominion. Forecast to 5 p.m.: fresh to strong north-westerly winds. Showers about the alps, and some brief rain likely later in the day on the plains. Temperatures moderate. ; WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is Fresh to strong winds from a westerly quarter. Weather changeable and showery. Temperatures becoming colder. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather yesterday was fine put tor the most part cloudy, with light, variable breezes. The maximum temperature was 65.1 degrees. At 1 o’clock this morning the sky was cloudy with a light north-east breeze. The barometer, falling, registered Z9.65in (1004.1 millibars).
