BLOMFIELD BEATS NEWMAN

(PA.) AUCKLAND. June 13. Illegal tactics by Leo Newman in the seventh round of a professional heavyweight wrestling match to-night gave •Lofty” Blomfield his first win this season by two falls to one. There was a large attendance. Newman was aggressive from the outset, and was cautioned by the referee several times. The first fall was taken by Blomfield in the fourth round with a body press. Newman equalled with the same tactics in the sixth. The next round began, furiously and culminated in Newman delivering a series of kidney punches, which cost him the about, Blomfield being awarded a penalty fall.
