Messrs H. J. Wardell and G. R. Macdonald were nominated yesterday by the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association as representatives of woolgrowers on the New Zealand Wool Board. Mr J. L. Macfarlane was nominated to represent sheep-farmers on the electoral committee of the board.
Group Captain T. M. Wilkes, C.8.E., M.C., is to retire after 35 years’ service with the defence forces. His retirement was*announced yesterday by the Minister of Defence (the Hon. F. Jones). Messrs C. H. Bethell and J. C. Chamberlain were appointed yesterday to represent the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association at the annual conference of the Royal Agricultural Society at Wellington on June 26.
Mr F. Baker, the Director of Rehabilitation, has resumed his duties after a short period in Lewisham Hospital, Christchurch, where he underwent a slight operation.—(P.A.) <
Mr M. D. Ross, accountant-teller at the Rangiora branch of the Union Bank of Australia, Ltd., for the last six months, has been appointed accountant at the Timaru branch. His place will be taken by Mr W. J. Thorn.
