APPEAL FOR FUNDS
CONGREGATIONAL CHURCHES An appeal to raise funds for Congregational churches in New -Zealand and for advancing the London Missionary Society was launched on Monday evening by the Canterbury district of the Congregational Union at a social function at the Mayfair Lounge. It was stated that £2OOO was required for “revitalising churches in the Dominion” and £2500 for the missionary society. There was a large representation from churches of the order, and the appeal was received enthusiastically. The Rev. F. James Kay presided, and the Rev. W. M. Garner outlined the aims and objects of the appeal.
