The restoration of the direct Pacific air service has not affected the air mail rate of 4s a half-ounce between New Zealand and San Francisco. This was the rate when the service was first opened and no change was made when the service was interrupted by the war and air mail had to be sent by a longer route, the Post Office bearing the additional costs.
