HAGLEY CLUB In the semi-final of the Meares Cup competition, played on Saturday afternon, L. S. Ayers beat J. H. Orr, 3 and 1; R. D. Johnston beat L. S. Smith. 1 up. In the semi-final of the Hagley Cup, E. T. Sopp beat C. N. Haslam, 3 and 2; R. E. Gillespie beat A. E. Hough, 1 up. The following are the best scores in a bogey competitionß. B. Nicholls (7), 2 down; E. H. Braggins (16), 2 down; L. F. Casey (14), 3 down; P. G. Greenwood (11), 4 down; W Mackenzie (16), 4 down. AVONDALE CLUB H. W. Simpson and P. S. Kortegast are this season’s winners of the “Top Dog” foursome trophy at Avondale, having defeated F. W. Walter and J. Mitchell, 2 up, in a closely-contested game when playing the final in the week-end. Simpson, on 12, and Kortegast, a promising junior on 18, have both been playing good golf this season.
