MINE DISPUTE ENDED
AMERICAN HARD COAL INDUSTRY
(Rec. 8 p.m.) NEW YORK, June T. The United Mineworkers’ Union and the hard coal operators have announced that they have reached agreement on a new contract, thus ending the strike of 75,000 hard coal miners in Pennsylvania. The settlement is closely parallel to that recently negotiated with the soft coal miners. It provides for a health and welfare fund costing 50.000,000 to 60,000,000 dollars a year, and for a wage increase ot 181 cents an hour. The miners previously earned lit cents an hour.
