SEVERE DROUGHT IN QUEENSLAND
HEAVY LOSSES OF STOCK (Rec. 9.30 p.m.) BRISBANE. June 7 Queensland is In the grip of a vast drought which is affecting every phase of primary industry. The south-western sheep areas, which have been without rain for three years, are a huge dust bowl, the most extensive in the State’s history. Stock on Charleville sheep station? is existing on leaves blown frem mulga bushes. Although 51 inches of ram has fallen here in six month®, the stock losses m the last three yeara have been 60 per cent.
