BUILDING PERMITS

FIGURES FOR MAY A big increase in the number of building permits issued in May over the issue in May, 1945, is recorded by the Christchurch City Council. Permits numbered 276, of a value of £120,484, against 151 of a value of £84,603. Since March 31, 427 permits of a value of £169,477 have been issued, compared with 252 (£133,765) for the corresponding period last year. Fees collected in. May amounted to £6ll 15s (£4OO 10s).
