“ The Press ” Special Service WELLINGTON, June 6. The weather forecast for Canterbury, Issued at 9 pjn. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: an extensive anti-cyclone is centred in the South Tasman Sea and covers New Zealand. Forecast to 5 p.m.: light to moderate and variable winds. Weather fine, except for a few patches of morning fog. Milder day temperatures. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Light to moderate easterly winds. Weather continuing fine, with moderate day temperatures. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather was fine and sunny yesterday. with a light south-west breeze. The rr.aximum temperature was 48.1 degrees. At 1 o’clock this morning the sky was clear with a very light south-west wind. The barometer, rising slowly, registered 29.32 inches (1026.8 millibars). Meteorological observations taken at the Magnetic Observatory, Christchurch, on Thursday. June 6:—
