REGIONAL PLANNING CONFERENCE
VISIT OF HON. R. SEMPLE
The Minister of Works (the Hon. R. Semple) arrived in Christchurch yesterday and will discuss the Christ-, church regional development plan with the North Canterbury Regional Planning Council and local authorities today. afternoon Mr Semple had an informal discussion with local body representatives as a preliminary to to-day’s conference. Mr Semple is accompanied by the Commissioner of Works (Mr E. R. McKillop), the Assistant-Commissioner of Works (Mr T. G. Beck), the Director of Housing Construction (Mr G. W. Albertson), and the Government Architect (Mr R. A. Patterson). The General Manager of Railways (Mr J. Sawers) is prevented by illness from attending the conference.
