Trade with Great Britain.— “ Reciprocal trade between Great Britain and New Zealand is of the greatest importance to both,” said Mr H. H. Meredith, Waimate, addressing the South Island Dairy Association in Dunedin. “Our Minister of Finance seems bent on reducing our national debt to Britain. Has he ever thought what might happen if it were totally liquidated? Before the war Britain imported much meat from the Argentine. Was not that because of the large amount of British capital invested in that country?”—(P.A.) The first of' the two R.N.Z.A.F. Catalina flying-boats which are being sent to Sydney to bring home 27 New Zealand servicemen who have been stranded there will leave Auckland at dawn to-day. The Catalina will arrive back in Auckland with the first section of the stranded men on Sunday afternoon. The second Catalina will leave on Tuesday and will return with the remainder of the men on Thursday.—(P.A.)
