DARFIELD MAN’S WORK PRAISED (Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, June 16. Nine pictures by Lance-Corporal A. A. Deans, of Darfield, are being shown in London at an exhibition of art by British prisoners. Lance-Corporal Deans is at Stalag XXA, where much of hjis work was shown at an exhibition on Boxing Day. His works, with others, were photographed and sent to London, where an exhibition was arranged by the British Prisoners of War Fund. Lance-Corporal Deans’s work includes two fine portraits, also “Crete Memories,” “Memories of New Zealand,” “View from the Roof of Kokinia Hospital,” and “View at Stalag XXA, Salonika.” His portraits particularly are praised by the "Daily Telegraph.”
