APPEALS AGAINST SERVICE

DECISIONS OF NO. I BOARD "I am very disappointed in the grade 2 and 3 men Who have been manpowered to me,” said Mr G. O. Templeton, representing the firm of Flutes, Ltd-, bacon curers, when supporting the appeals for two of the firm’s employees in the No, 1 Armed Forces Appeal Board yesterday. “It doesn’t seem as if the work in our factory is suitable for them,” he said. The employees being appealed for were Charles Bell Anderson, described as a smallgoodsman, and Edward Curry, a factory worker, both grade 1 men. The appellants, it was stated, were working a 60-hour week. Mr J, E. Jones, a member of the board, asked whether women could be employed by the firm. Mr Templeton’s reply was that the work in the factory was too heavy. The appeals were adjourned sine die, "but.” said Mr E- A.
