MAGISTRATE’S COURT

TUESDAY (Before Mr E. C, Levvey, S.M.) HEAVY BAIL Arthur Herbert Greening, aged 48, a labourer, was charged with having at Christchurch on December 7, 1942, received the sum of £350 requiring him to pay it to the account of Frances Rebecca Burroughs, at the Commercial Bank of Australia, Ltd,, Christchurch, and having fraudulently omitted to pay £2OO of it as directed, thereby committing theft. The police asked for a remand until June 21. Senior-Detective H. Nuttall stated that there were other charges, Involving £630, pending against the accused. The remand was granted. Ball was fixed In the sum of £6OO with one surety of £6OO. Mr R. P. Thompson appeared for the accused.
