TROTTING CONTROL
STATEMENT BY ASSOCIATION The following resolution was passed at the last meeting of the New Zealand Trotting Association:— “That whenever the evidence in a case coming before the association discloses that there has been an arrangement or attempt to defraud the public and such evidence war* rants criminal proceedings being instituted against the delinquent or Delinquents, that such criminal proceedings be taken, but this reso ;“* tion is passed without in any way prejudicing the powers conferred on the association by the Rules of Tro.ting.” The statement issued by the association says:—"The association vieua cases of this nature very seriously «* feels that in the interests of the spo ■* ing public severe punishment sr.cu be meted out to offenders. has been taken on previous occas.' • in connexion with the ringing- 10 , horses some years ago The term imprisonment acts as a deterrent • those persons who may contempt wrongdoing.” ,
