They were;— KILLED Granville Henry Matins, aged 30, of Harp of Erin. Duncan Macarthur, aged 33, of Point Chevalier. One United States seaman. INJURED Thomas James Barclay, aged 45, a welder, of Grey Lynn. The men were working on boiler equipment about 3.30 p.m. when the accident occurred. Because of the comparatively confined space in which they were working they were unable to escape immediately. The fourth man, who was very severely scalded, was removed to the Auckland Hospital, where his condition was stated to be very serious.
