TWO SERVICEMEN ARRESTED

REPORTED STABBING AFFRAY (P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 14. H. E. Mahoney, of Petone, a waterside worker, is reported to have been stabbed by visiting servicemen outside his home on Saturday inighl. It is stated that two servicemen callad to visit two girk who board there, and when told that the girls did not wish to see them, they refused to go away. A struggle developed, and one man, it is reported, slashed Mahoney with a knife, inflicting a severe incised wound on the left side of the body. Neighbours then appeared and the two men ran away. Mahoney was admitted to hospital. His condition is reported to b.e satisfactory. Two servicemen have been arrested by the military authorities.
