CIVIL DEFENCE CHANGES

* , POSITION OF REGIONAL COMMISSIONERS Arrangements have been approved whereby Colonels F. L. G. West and W. T. Churchward, Civil Defence Regional Commissioners for the Northern and Southern Military Districts respectively, will shortly cease to be employed on a full time basis. They will be returning to their civil occupations, but will continue as Regional Commissioners on a part time basis and will retain their rank and position at headquarters. The associate officers of the Regional Commissioners will continue on a full time basis. These arrangements were suggested by the Regional Commissioners as they considered their whole time services were not now required because of the improved war situation in the Pacific and the practical completion of the civil defence organisation.
