“Last year’s report was described as the forty-ninth annual report, but investigations have shown that this was incorrect,” states the annual report of .the Canterbury Horticultural Society. "It would appear that the society was originally founded in the early sixties, under the title of the Christchurch Horticultural Society. The records available do not show when the name was changed, but it was apparently after a period of difficulty experienced by the society in the nineties. Efforts are still being made to clarify the records, and it,is hoped to have a full report during the coming year.”
