SIX APPLICATIONS FOR POST

Six applications have been received for the post of secretary-organiser of the Christchurch Metropolitan E.P.S. which carries a salary of £6OO a year. Applications closed yesterday, and among those received wore one from Auckland, and another from Nelson. The executive will probably meet to discuss the applications when the Mayor (Mr E, H. Andrews) returns from Wellington, At its last meeting the executive approved the appointment of Captain E. S. Summers, of New Plymouth, but Captain Summers declined the position as he had accepted another post. The executive then decided to call for fresh applications and advertise the position in *Vio fnnr main ppnti’PS.
