ANNUAL MEETINGS HELD Reports presented at the annual meetings of the Canterbury Auxiliary of the Baptist Union of New Zealand, which were held in Christchurch at the week-end, show that there has been a marked increase in Bible cl&ss and Sunday school work in Baptist churches throughout Canterbury. Sun. day school returns for the last year showed a net increase of more than 10 per cent., and the Bible classes a net increase of more than 30 per cent. The auxiliary elected the following officers yesterday:—President, Mr J. W. Thomas; vice-president, the Rev. E. Nicholls; secretary, the Rev. G. N. Garlick; treasurer, Mr T. Nuttall. In connexion with the meetings of the auxiliary, a concert was presented in the Oxford Terrace Baptist Hall on Saturday evening, by the Christchurch Liedertafel Choir, under the conductorship of Mr V. C. Peters.
