THIRD LIBERTY LOAN
OPENING OF CAMPAIGN TOMORROW Final arrangements are now being made for the opening ceremony of the third Liberty Loan to be held in fhristchurch to-morrow afternoon. A v, u t will be erected by the Army in the Square in front of the United Bering Hotel, to serve as an auxiliary cost office, A speech will be given at 230 p.m. from the balcony of the irnited Service Hotel by the Mayor nf Christchurch <Mr E. H. Andrews), ®ho will officially open the campaign. Other speakers will be Mr W. H. E. Flint chairman of the Christchurch Third Liberty Loan Committee, and Mr J. L. Hay. chairman of the Christ•hurch National Savings Committee, About 2.45 p.m, about 300 Army carrier pigeons will be released in the Sauare by Women’s Auxiliary Army . 2;L DS Signals personnel. At the same bombers of the Royal New Zealand Air Force are expected to be flying overhead in formation. The women’s Auxiliary Air Force pipe }/d will turn out, and the Navy is jfcjected to be represented by the ■Pijjan Naval Singers, who will give their first public appearance in Christhoped that the three services will be represented by the senior officers in Christchurch of the Air Force, the Army, and the Navy—Air Commodore Sir Robert Clark-Hall, Brigadier A S. Falconer and Brigadier E. T. Howliings, and Commander A. D. Boyle.
