The weather forecast for Canterbury Issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue is as follows: Moderate to strong north-westerly winds. Rain in the ranges. Mainly fair and mild on the plains. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of che South Island is:— Winds turning to fresh south-west-erly, and weather becoming changeable, with passing showers. Temperatures cool to moderate. CHRISTCHURCH WhATHKR A frost of 5.8 degrees was recorded tn Christchurch yesterday. The day was Cool, with a light north-easterly breeze. At I o’clock this morning the sky was clear and the wind was light, from the north-east. The barometer at 29.98 in (1015.2 millibars) was falling slowly.
