ARMY EDUCATION
♦ DISCUSSION BY TECHNICAL COLLEGE BOARD “We should endeavour to give these men 'the opportunity to go on further with their courses.” said Mr W. T. Langley at a meeting of the Board of Governors of the Christchurch Technical College last evening, when the Army educational course of instruction. held under the auspices of the Army Education and Welfare Service at the Technical College recently, was being discussed. “It depends on how the Army views the educational scheme after this ‘preliminary canter’ as to how much support we get in future,” said the chairman (Mr T. W. West), "and it is very satisfactory to read the comments of the high military officers who inspected the courses in operation, and later indicated that their support would be readily given to future courses." Mr West said that the Army authorities were pleased with the enthusiasm of the students who had done these courses and were satisfied with the work the students had done. The authorities took the view, he said, that these men would induce others to attend if further courses were held. “The board looks forward with confidence to holding courses in the future when it anticipates that much larger numbers of students will attend the classes," Mr West said.
