* CANTERBURY POSITION COMPARISON WITH LAST SEASON Indications are that the area sown . in wheat by farmers in Canterbury this season will be at least as gre as , the area sown last year, rn information was given to the wot Canterbury District Council of Prim ary Production yesterday by liaison officer of the Wheat Cprnnu tee (Mr H. Worrall). who said tna* with a bit of luck there might be little increase. . m Mr Worrall added that apart from delay caused by the hard ground a finding fertiliser the sowings were not bad. The sowings in North Camer bury were not quite so good as in j rest of the country. In the south opinion seemed to be that sov.i -g would be approximately the same last year. “The labour position is very san factory, and I have had no complaim of difficulties from my colleagues, said Mr Worrall. “Labour is m reasj . onably good supply, and the Jjjll and the National Service Departments have adopted a new basis of °P ticn, which is working out quite sat factorily. Fertiliser is definitely trouble, however.
