HONEY FOR CIVILIANS
LIMITED SUPPLIES AVAILABLE (P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 1. Limited supplies of honey j>re now being made available by the Internal Marketing Division io merchants in the main centres for distribution among grocers for sale to the civilian population. Endeavours are being made to secure the co-operation of merchants and retailers so that distribution among civilians will be as equitable as possible. „ . , , There would be insufficient honey to meet all civilians’ demands, as it was hoped to give priority in supply to mothers with families of young children and after that to elderly people, said the Minister of Marketing, (the Hon. J. G. Barclay). He appealed to consumers to assist grocers by realising that they would give priority in their distributions to those who had the best claim—that was young children and very old people.
