ENFORCEMENT OF REGULATIONS
* ULTIMATUM ISSUED TO BEEKEEPERS According to the president of th Canterbury Beekeepers’ Associatio (Mr W. B. Bray), an ultimatum hs been issued to eight beekeepers i Canterbury, by the Acting-Director c Marketing (Mr R. P. Fraser), requii ing them to supply honey to the Ir ternal Marketing Division in accorc ance with the marketing regulation which place 70 per cent, of the cro under State control. Mr Fraser said in his letter that Jh producers could either send the hone to the Internal Marketing Division i Christchurch or to a private concer in Dunedin. Mr Bray has announced the inter tion of his association to defend th beekeepers affected, should any om or all of them, be prosecuted. Th whole position, added Mr Bray, ha been further discussed at a represer tative meeting of beekeepers i Timaru on Saturday. No general dc cision had been made at the meetinj but it whs agreed that producers wh were ready to send supplies to th division could Some producer he said, were supplying the divisio under protest and without prejudic to their demand for a higher price.
