J • The stimulating effect that developments in the international, situation have had -on recruilng in the\territorial forces throughout the Dominion is confirmed in a. aatement to “The Press” yesterday by Major H. M. Foster, N.Z.S.C., Area Officer at Christchurch. f

“The development* in the situation were very sudden aid had everybody gasping a bit,” said jfajor Foster, “but it was very gratifying to receive so many offers of sewice, particularly from old soldiers. [There has been a large number of inquiries at headquarters in Christchurch also from young men wanting to join territorial units. The result is a definite improvement in recruiting.
