SOLDIERS’ PENSIONS
TO TH* EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir, —Would you be kind enough to answer the following questions, as I am very doubtful how they stand; (1) This was from your Parliamentary reporter on August 12. Restoration of economic pension to the full rate. It is also stated that provisions will be made in another bill to be introduced this session for economic pensions and war pensions to be restored to the full rate of 30s, with provisions for 20s for wives and 10s for dependent children. (2) I was married in December, 1936, so my wife and child draw no pension. I am on a life pension of 30s and also economic pension, and am unable to earn any money. , Will ,we- get : any benefit out of the superannuation scheme? (3) Will I have to pay the £1 a year levy and the tax of Is in the £1? At present I am exempt.— Yours, etc., • ONE OF THE FIRING PARTY. September 28, 1938, [When this letter was referred to the Registrar' for Pensions, he said that he could mot make any comment on • it, as the act dealing with the matter Ts not yet available.]-
