Warlike Policies Opposed MOUNTED POLICE CHARGE CROWDS (Uini*D FUSS association—coptbioht.) (Received September 29, 11.30 p.m.) LONDON, September 29. The Paris correspondent of the “News-Chronicle” says It is learned that serious rioting occurred in Milan yesterday afternoon and was continued last evening.
A large crowd demonstrated against Herr Hitler's and Signor Mussolini's warlike policy.
Mounted police made a charge and many were injured.
The "News-Chronicle" tells a story, which it declares to be fully supported, of Italian deserters crossing the French frontier daily. Three senior officers are reported to be among the latest batch of deserters.

The Hungarian Minister at Prague has presented to Dr. Krofta another Note declaring that any discrimination against the Hungarian minority will be regarded as an unfriendly act.

Dr: R. J. Manion, the Conservative Party leader, announces that the Party completely supports the Government's endorsement of Mr' Chamberlain's policy as defined by the Prime Minister's statement on Tuesday.. The Cabinet is awaiting the result of the Munich conference.
The insurance firms are setting the war risk grain rates on cargoes for French and Mediterranean ports at 5 per cent, of the invoice value. This is the highest since the Great War.
The Czech Consul at Montreal states that applications have been received from 500 Canadians seeking to fight with the Czechs.
ATTEMPT ON DISTANCE RECORD CANCELLED

The Air Ministry has cancelled the Mercury's attempt on the longdistance flight record because of the international situation.
