THRILLS AND COMEDY
(Advance Story.) All the colour and romance of Canada's famous Royal North-West Mounted Police are seen in "Border Brigands," the stirring Universal film which will open to-day at the Crystal Palace with "She's Got Everything" with Buck Jones in the starring role. The Story is laid on tha border between Alaska and Canada's northernmost territory, and the action takes place alternately in an isolated post of the "Mounties" and a rough settlement on the American side. The picture tells a revealing and highly interesting story of those picturesque law officers who, according to popular report, * "always get their man/'
Jones is seen in the role of Lieutenant Barry, whose brother is killed during a robbery by a band of cut-throats, committing many of their, crimes on the Canadian side of the border and fleeing into American territory, where they are safe from pursuit by the Mounted Police. To be able to follow them to their stronghold, Jones resigns his commission in the "Mounties," and the remainder of the story details his thrilling adventures after he and a

companion are accepted as members of the band.
"Border Brigands" was directed by Nick Grinde, and Jones's supporting cast includes Lona Andre, Fred Kohler, Frank Rice. Edward Keane, J. P. McGowan, and many other well-known figures in the realm of adventure drama. The original screen play was written by Stuart Anthony. In "She's Got Everything," after a long separation, during which each appeared in pictures without the other, Gen 2 Raymond and Ann Sothern are reunited.
During the interval, Ann Sothern played in "Super Sleuth," with Jack Oakie, end "There Goes the Groom." with Burgess Meredith and Mary Boland. Raymond meanwhile has appeared in the all-star "The Life of the Party," with Harriet Hilliard, Joe Penner, Parkyakarkus, and a host of others. The film is said to be the best in which these two have appeared together. A romping story of a penniless society girl whose creditors are trying to marry her off to a wealthy man, "She's Got Everything" is filled with hilarious situations suiting the peculiar talents of the able cast, which includes Victor Moore. Helen Broderick, Parkyakarkus, Billy Gilbert, Solly Ward, and William Brisbane.
