BUSINESSMEN'S CLUB
SOCIAL AT JELLICOE HALL A programme of wide contrast, ranging from wrestling bouts to items by members of the Liedertafel, provided an excellent entertainment for members and pending members of the Christchurch Businessmen's Club, at its social held in the Jellicoe Hall last night. Mr S. G. Holland (president) said in a short address that it was one of the few times the club had opportunity of entertaining those who were on the waiting list of the club. An imitation of a professional wrestling contest by two members of Toe H was very popular and caused much' amusement. Items by members of the Liedertafel were greatly enjoyed. The programme was:—Exhibition wrestling and boxing, members of Toe H; song, Mr W. Toomey; humorous item, Mr J. Lockhart; exhibition, members of the Christchurch Swords Club; items by members of- the Liedertafel. conducted by Mr V. C. Peters; item by Mr P. Barnard; humorous item. Mr S. Comfort: motion pictures presented by Mr N. S. Coxhead.
