OBITUARY

RT. HON. TOM SHAW (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION-COPYRIGHT.) (Received September- 27, 7.10 p.m.) LONDON, September 26. The death has occurred of the Rt. Hon. Tom Shaw, P.C., C.B.E. He was secretary of the International Federation of Textile Workers from 1911 to 1929 and since 1931. He was born at Colne, Lancashire, in 1872. He was Minister for Labour in 1924 and Secretary of State for War from 1929 to 1931. MR E. H. BLAKE (tnriTEß PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.' OTTAWA. September 26. A cable message from the East Indies states that Mr Edward Hume Blake, a grandson of the famous Canadian statesman, died from a heart attack at Bali while returning from a conference in Australia.
