TOKYO, September 27.
Japan’s Budget is estimated at £265,000,000, including £100,000,000. for new demands, covering national defence and the expansion of facilities “behind the guns.”
The fighting services demand a special military budget to finance hostilities after the fail of Hankow, which the Chinese are still vigorously defending
BRITISH BATTALIONS LEAVE SHANGHAI

SHANGHAI, September 26. Six British battalions are being suddenly drafted to Hong Kong. The Ist Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders, embarked on the cruiser Birmingham at four hours’ notice. It is believed that United States marines will take over the British defence sectors at Shanghai. . Most German residents are moving into the Japanese Concession.
