DEFENDED CASE HEARD

YESTERDAY

In a defended case at the civil court yesterday, before Mr F. F. Reid S.M., Reginald ,Claude Stace iMr A. B. Hobbs) claimed possession of trotting equipment from Arthur W. Johnston (Mr F. W. Johnston). A counter-claim was entered by the defendant for £276 2s 8d for expenses allegedly incurred with training trotting horses A setoff for £4OB was claimed by the plaintiff. who alleged that he had made payments for the f d. fondant. The amount of set-off was reduced to £3OO because it was beyond the jurisdiction of the Court. . After hearing the evidence the Magistrate gave judgment for the plaintiff by the consent of the parti s on the claim for the trotting equipment. On the counter-claim judgment was given for the defendant for £24 13s 2d, with costs. ■
