St. Barbe Holland,.acting on doctor's orders, left Wellington tcuday to take a complete rest in the country." He has cancelled his engagements, and will take no part in Church affairs until his return on about October 15. In the meantime all diocesan business will be administered by the Vicar.Geqeral (Archdeacon W. Bullock). Bishop Holland's absence will mean the postponement of his intended visits to Wellington city parishes, where l\e was to have launched the -Anglican centennial appeal. It is understood. - - however, that on bis return he will . resume his programme at the point . where he has been obliged to abandon . it. His recent whirlwind tour of the entire country portion of the diocese, visiting in the course of seven or eight weeks every parish outside of W»' lington city and suburbs, was a tremendous endeavour, ana impose* » severe strain on the bishop's health, particularly as he was just-recovering-from the after-effects of hi* motor accident last April- , - In the course of the tour Bishop-Hol-land's efforts were responsible wr |»* raising of some £30,000 towards ta« centennial appeal.
