The Minister for Public Works, the Hon. R. Semple, who is visiting Christchurch on the first section of a long electioneering tour in the south, will leave Christchurch by air on Wednesday for Dunedin, where he will start by motor-par for Invercargill. Mr Semple will not return to Wellington until Saturday, October 8.
Mr E. T. Tirikatene, M.P., arrived in Christchurch from the north on Saturday. Liedtenant-Colonel G. Rattan was a passenger on the steamer express from the' north on Saturday.
Mr James Begg arrived in Christchurch from the north on Saturday.
Mr Renton Bell was among the passengers on the steamer express from the north on Saturday.
Mr P. H. T. Alpers arrived from the north on Saturday.
Professor E. R. Hudson, Director of Canterbury Agricultural College, returned to Christchurch from the north yesterday.
Squadron Leader J. Davidson, Air Force, was a passenger by the steamer express from the north yesterday.
