WHIPPET RACING
ANNUAL NEW BRIGHTON MEETING CLOSING OF SEASON The New Brighton Whippet Club's annual and final meeting of the 1937-38 season, held at Bower Park. Burwood, on Saturday, was most successful. There was a large attendance, with good entries for the 24 events, and with the exception of two events the finishes were exceptionally close. The most popular win of the day was that of W. Gobbe's Doric Star, in the sec-ond-class Hurdles. Mr Gobbe has been a consistent supporter during the last three years, and though his dogs have been in some close finishes,, this win was nis first success.
