Guaranteed Price Scheme” (S ip tern - ber 20, 1938), would you please publish in full Mr Nash's statement, in which these lines occur: “Mr Nash indicates plainly that he regards this deficit as impossibly large, and points out that heavy, deficits must ‘inevitably wreck the guaranteed price procedure.’ ” Yours, etc., DAIRY FARMER. September 21, 1938. [The relevant sentences in Mr Nash’s speech are: “There is the further factor emphasised by the committee, of which the Government is bound to take cognisance, namely, the financial implications of the price determined. This is a matter which the committee considered did not come within the scope of its order of reference, but which the Government, - however, cannot ignore in considering the committee’s recommendation. Heavy deficits, moreover, if repeated, must inevitably wreck the whole guaranteed price procedure.”—Ed.. “The Pross.’’l
