ROWING
CANTERBURY CLUB ELECTION OF OFFICERS Officers elected at the seventy-eighth annual meeting of the Canterbury Rowing Club last evening were:—President, Mr F. I. Cowllshaw; vice-presidents, Messrs H. Ayers. J. G. .Grierson, C. F. Turner, and R. J. Hobbs; captain, Mr C. G. Buchanan; vice-captain. Mr J. M. Steeds: secretary, Mr W. Barnett; treasurer, Mr W. M. Graham: assistant-trea-surer. Mr C. C. Orsulich; racing committee. Messrs M. T. Hunter and M. Clay: delegates to Rowing Association, Messrs W. M. Graham and J. B. Taylor; auditors, Messrs F. H. Brown and J. W. K. Lawrence; committee, Messrs M. Clay, M. T. Hunter, H. W. Millard, H. S. Read, J. B. Taylor, J. C. Vivian, and J. O. McGlften. The president .referred to the loss suffered by the club' In the death of Mr E. M. Boulton, who was club captain In- 188980. and of Mr A. C. Pavitt. also an old member of the club. Members stood in silence as a mark of respect to their memory. Mrs J. R, Evans was elected a life member of. the club.
The annual report and balance-sheet, already published in "The Press,” were adopted.
