AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEY PLAY .AGAIN POSTPONED (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.) (Received September 20, 7.10 p.m.) NEW YORK, September 19. Because of continued rain play in the United States lawn tennis championships has been postponed. SOUTH NEW BRIGHTON CLUB The annual meeting of the South New Brighton Tennis Club was held recently. The chairman (Mr J. S. Ainsworth) congratulated the club on the healthy state of its finances. Opening day was fixed for October 8 The following officers were elected: —Patron, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan; vicepatron, the Mayor of New Brighton, Mr E. L. Smith; Mr F. J. Flood-vice-presidents, Mrs E. C. Hannan Messrs J. S. Ainsworth, J. N. Clarke D. M. Bain. A. Lawry. W. Hulme, Calvert, and, F. S. Woodward; secretary, Mr J. K. Hannan; club captain. Mr L. W. Gazzard; vice-captain, Mr E. E. Lord; management committee, Mesdames Lord and Woodward, Messrs Camnbell, Murphy, and Peddie; auditor, Mr R. Hannan; honorary solicitor, Mr J. Corbett .
