Weather mainly cloudy to overcast, and i wifh occasional showers. Temperatures moderate. Seas moderate to rather rough. ' • DOMINION The forecast for the Dominion is.— Fair to fine in eastern districts. Rather changeable in and west of the ranges, and in the far south, with occasional showers in many places. Temperatures cool, with some frosts in eastern districts. A shallow westerly depression is passing east of the South Island, but pressure is rising over the Dominion, and is high from eastern Australia across the north Tasman Sea. ! "Winds—North-westerlies predominating in Cook Strait and on most of the east coast, but elsewhere southwest to north-west. Light to moderate over the Auckland Province, and elsewhere moderate to strong. Seas (New Zealand waters)— Rather rough to rough about Cook and Foveaux Straits, and moderate to. rather rough on the west coast, south of Kawhia. Elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea —Moderate to strong winds between north-west and south-west. Sens rather rough. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER Yesterday was fine but mainly overcast in Ghristchurch. EST OTHER PLACES Auckland —There was generally fine weather yesterday with a few showers in the morning and a moderate southwest wind- The maximum temperature was 64 degrees. The barometer .was steady with the reading at 5 p.m., 30.10 inches. Wellington—Yesterday was fine and clear, with a strong north-westerly wind. The minimum temperature on Monday night was 47.1 degrees and the maximum yesterday 57.4 degre--. At 3.30 pan. the temperature was 56.c degrees . and the barometer 29.885 inches. Dunedin—The sun shone brightly yesterday morning, and in spite of a light and variable breeze, the temperature reached a maximum of 60 degrees.
