U.S. CHAMPIONSHIPS POSTPONED
NEGOTIATIONS TO TEAM TO
VISIT AUSTRALIA

The Australian Associated Press understands that the Australian Association will net "£ 2500 over all expenses in Australian currency from the Davis Cup tour. ' Negotiations for an American team to go to, Australia have' advanced a stage further. It is under--stood that Miss Alice Marble wishes to go, and probably would • accept' an Australian invitation. It is'understood that the united Spates Lawn Tennis ,Associati6n does not approve. Riggs- and Satin are making' the tour. Cooke has|intimated his readiness to go and (Shields will possibly be prepared tor go. It is believed! that the Australian Association wijl ask the United States Lawn Tennis Association for permission for Riggs and Shields to make the "trip, ;as it is believed that they would - be a great drawing combination.. J
