PLUNKET SOCIETY AT AMBERLEY

Mrs W. Briggs presided over a committee- meeting of the Amberley subbranch of the Plunket Society. The nurse's report for July showed: —Visits to homes, new cases 1, old cases 7; visits to office, adults 'B, babies 8, children 1; advice by telephone, 6. It was decided to give £5 5s to the car fund of the Rangiora branch and £1 Is to the annual Rangiora flower day. Arrangements were made for the stall at the Agricultural and Pastoral show on October 28.

SOUTH MALVERN BRANCH

The half-yearly pre-school child day arranged by the South Maivern branch of the Plunket Society was held in the Glentunnel School. Nurse Finlayson attended many young children who were weighed and measured. Nurse Finlayson read an article on "The Essentials for a .Child's Health." and emphasised the necessity;. lor rest for growing children.' Mrs John Deans presided.
