NEW PULPIT AND COMMUNION RAIL UNVEILED

Alterations have recently been carried out at the Shirley Methodist Church, the pulpit being moved from" the centre of the church to the west* side and a communion rail erected in the centre. The unveiling ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. Strand at the service on Sunday morning, after which the " Rev. F. Gardner Brown offered a dedicatory prayer. A communion table and kneeling

cushion were presented to the church by Mr G. E. Palmer for the Bible classes, and Mr A. Collins received these for the trustees. Mr - Brown conducted the service, the sub-' ject of his sermon being "Divine Wor- - ship." A solo was sung by Mr S. H. Provost, and the choir sang the anthem "Awake Up My Glory" (Barnby).
