Carter at the Eltham County Council meeting when the question of benzine taxation was being discussed. Seeing the notice "Benzine Is 3d a gallon," the motorist, decided to pull in at the next garage'and fiij. up. -On .arriving at a garage he said, "My wordY. benzine is" cheap here." "Oh, yes," replied the proprietor, "but of course there is lOd extra to be paid to the Government."
