"ENTERPRISE" ' . \ ■ An assurance that there was no in- r tention of Government interference .with private enterprise in the lime in- - dustry, except that the industry should be established on a sound economicbasis, was given.. by the Minister far Industries and Commerce D. ' industry -was one,of the most difficult undertaken .by the Department of In- *. dustries and' Commerce, and the whole - question would be dealt with by the.v Department of Agriculture., The Min-" - ister was not prepared to divulge for::, -publication the report which had been prepared, but gave the committee a summary of the report in confidence. *** A special report on lime supplies was prepared for the union by Mr - Aitken some time ago, .and the committee was set up to take what action it thought necessary."
